Traps

All traps have some irresistible lure
a tidbit that beckons,
tempts desire ahead of reason.

 

All traps are hidden where their victims
are wont to travel,
snares that dangle in their path.

 

But the deadliest of traps we plant ourselves
heart-baited
and sunk in the pathways of our dreams.
