Re: your NY Times Op Ed of 26 June 2025.  TLDR; The answer to your question, Andrew, is 'yes'.  You are just an old fart railing against change you don't understand and won't take the effort to try to understand.  I'm 74 and even *I'm* not half so "Get off my lawn" as you are.  (Also, I'm pissed as fuck that so many people, who are ignorant of our lives, feel compelled to comment on them).

that you have found someone
to blame for all the trouble
that Queers will now face.
As if it wasn’t your
conservative friends revealing
what they’d intended all along — 
they’re coming for all of us.

 

How nice for you
that you can get published
backing their play and nod
sagely as you parrot their lies
and blame us for insisting
that these kids not suffer
as we did before puberty blockers
and hormone therapy were available.

 

How nice for you
that you can pretend that just
because you were confused
as a kid that all of us are.
Did it never occur to you
that you were confused because
you didn’t have the understanding
we have tried to pass on?

 

How nice for you
that you are happy being a man,
but I lost half my life trying to please others
by acting the way they thought I should
because of the body I inhabited.
If there is one thing that I know
it is the simple fact that the body
is more malleable than the soul.

 

How nice for you
that you can sleep at night
knowing how many people will suffer
because the Right has spent decades
spreading lies and confusion.
Now we’re down to concentration camps
and you are distancing yourself
from those who will inhabit them.
